Blue Hawaii - Blue Gowns
A soap box for a moment: Maybe the Oscars has always been an obnoxious spectacle, but for some reason this year it seemed over-the-top, in-my-face about it. I think it's wonderful that the cinematic geniuses have a moment of love fest, but.. we get it, we get it. Ok stepping off the box.
I loved Kristen Wiig's peachy nude J. Mendel gown was my favorite of the red carpet parade. Jessica Chastain in this black and rusty gold Alexander McQueen was absolutely stunning. Gwyneth Paltrow looked literally unreal in her all white Tom Ford dress with a cape, how are you so perfect? Lastly, a look back at Grace Kelly at the Acadamey Awards in 1955. Amazing.
Blue Hawaii's Blue Gowns is one of my favorite songs from 2010. The mood doesn't necessarily fit perfectly with that of watching the Oscars but it's ethereal and simple yet complicated, just like these gowns. Enjoy.
